The Bradshaw 4-Tier Barrister Bookcase - Cherry adds a touch of warmth to traditional motifs, but modernists will adore the glass-paned doors and minimalist design. Recessed panels add subtle design value. Four fixed-height shelves provide plenty of storage space, while the handsome glass doors keep contents dust-free. In fine barrister fashion, these doors can be fully recessed into the bookcase when you lift and slide them into position. This offers you full access to the open shelves for as long as you need. Each shelf area measures 27.06W x 14.25H inches. Construction from quality, real-wood veneers will withstand the rigors of wear.

They are beautiful & great to display collectibles or books! I love them! They were easy to put together, but you need a few hands to make sure the glass doors don't fall out until you get all the pieces together. Due to other comments made about them being flimsy I used wood glue for all of the pegs, but didn't find them to be flimsy once fully put together.

The bookcase has only seen a tree on it's way to a glue factory... Not a wood veneer anywhere. Makes Sauder products look like fine furniture.
Assembly should note that 3 people are necessary when trying to keep 4 glass doors and 4 shelves upright while trying to place the opposite side onto the dowel pins.
Thin metal locking caps break easily when trying to secure to locking pins. If it doesn't break, it will crack the shelf as you try to get some tightness in the flimsy joint.
If you tighten the locking pins even slightly snugly the locking cap often will not engage the pin. Then you have to try and loosen the pin in place or unassemble and then loosen the pin and reassemble again. Note assembly is a nightmare.
Glass is barely retained in the doors with loose and unsightly plastic strips. The retaining strips fall out of place easily.
Overall, this bookcase would NOT be a steal at at half the price. Will never dare move this bookcase so it will be gift to the next home owner.

      Very hard to put together. It took three of us to hold it. We bought bigger screws to hold the back on and make it feel sturdy.

        The unit is good for storing figurines and preventing dust from getting on the objects.

        Service and delivery comments:

        Delivery was prompt, but the box was torn open in several places. The one end was nearly torn wide open. I contacted Hayneedle customer service about returning it.
