The Bradshaw 4-Tier Barrister Bookcase - Creamy White provides a sleek place for display and storage with definite modern flair. Glass-paned doors complement the minimalist design and subtle recessed panels. Four fixed-height shelves provide plenty of storage space, while the handsome glass doors keep contents dust-free. Shelf depth is a spacious 12 inches. In fine barrister fashion, these doors can be fully recessed into the bookcase when you lift and slide them into position. I was 90% complete with the assembly. I stood the bookcase up and went in the other room to get a carpenters square before attaching the final backing piece. When I returned the bookcase was in a pile on the floor with all of the fasteners ripped out. No way to salvage it. What a waste of my money.

    Some of the anchors split in two necessitating the insertion of deck screws to hold the unit together. The shelves sagged as soon as I transferred my books from my other 10+ year old case (that NEVER sagged under the same load). Couldn't get the door below to close until I took out half of the books on the shelf. The finish can best be described as primitive.

    Bottom Line No, I would not recommend this to a friend

      I got this for my craft room. I like how its a really short bookcase and I like the doors to keep it looking neat. The materials are cheap so I would not buy this full price. I do plan on getting two more on sale. I had to order it twice since the first one was damaged, I would recommend calling to order it and ask for better packaging. The bad thing is that the space is pretty small. You can not even fit a binder on a shelf due to the doors. I don't think its a piece that would last very long, but I do love the way it looks. Wish it came in solid wood so it can be a life time piece. The color is perfect and it was the style that I was looking for. Takes two people to put it together because of the doors but it went by quickly. Over all I am happy with it, just have to be gentle with it so it doesnt get scratched.

        I bought this to display dolls so it is perfect with the glass doors to keep the dust out. It was very easy to put together and I did it myself. It is not very sturdy so to buy for storage use is not recomended. I have to say this was my first purchase from Hayneedle and I was very impressed with how fast they ship and I actually had to order another one to replace one of the shelves because the pre drilled holes did not match up. They processed that return very fast as well.

        Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend
