This bookcase, once assembled, would probably work best in a child's room (I actually would have loved it as a college student, but couldn't have afforded it then). However, if you're looking for a good-quality piece of furniture that doesn't look like a cheap, do-it-yourself project, you'll want to look elsewhere. The fiberboard of which this product is made is of such poor quality that it crumbles when you try to screw in the bolts, and tightening one of the cams resulted in a large (unfixable) bulge in the opposite side of one of the dividers. The pre-drilled holes were too small, and the cambolts themselves were of inferior quality which made them very hard to work with. The finished product had gaps where the back and top didn't meet, and there were several other places where there were pieces didn't fit snugly together. [...]

I bought two of these bookcases and stacked them. I love the flexibility of changing the height of the shelves. It was easy to put together.

The shelves tip easily when toddlers pull tubs off to get to their toys. The shelving pins need to be glued in during construction phase. When the shelves tip, the pins fly causing what I think a choking hazard. It would also be nice if the wicker baskets shown were available for purchase of the organizer as well. There are lots of wicker baskets to be had but until the unit is finished, we really don't know what size is pertinent.

This is a great little bookcase - i love that it is flexible and can be used to store so many different types of things. I originally wanted to store binders, but it also is great for notebooks, loose papers, baskets, books, etc.

We use the product for storing books and toys in the living room. The kids really like seeing everything on display and have fun selecting their books and we are happy to have the clutter off the floor at the end of the day.
