I bought 4 of these shelving units for my craft room. I stacked them & put them on either side of a wall with a table in the middle. I love how expensive they look & the clean lines. They were very easy to put together but weigh so much that I needed help stacking them. The only problem I had in putting them together was that the locking hardware on 2 occasions bored through the wood & caused a dimple on the shelf. I have managed to cover it up so no one knows but me & my brother, who helped me. I would recommend this product to anyone looking for style, affordability, roomy shelves & luxurious shelving for their home. It fits perfectly into my newly remodeled home & is my favorite piece. I am extremely pleased.

I did need help assembling this bookcase. Assembly instructions were detailed and easy to follow. Free shipping a big plus. I will definitely be purchasing additional items.

We ordered two of these for our living room. The first thing we noticed is a very strong smell that resembles oil or gas. Apparently, the black portion of the piece isn't wood, it's some type of synthetic material that could be oil-based. The smell appears to be disapating slowly over the course of the last few days. The other strong negative was the difficulty in assembling them. We've ordered other pieces that required assembly and this one was probably the most frustrating. On the plus side, they're strong and sturdy, we like the colors, the size and the shape, they look good in our living room, and the price was right.
