    The bookcase looks good. Much of its wood is solid. But, the slats that are in the middle are made out of wood as strong as balsa wood, and one cracked straight through as I assembled the case. Very disappointing. Because it does not bear much wt the shelf can be used, but one woudl hope for a LOT better quality. Then, when adding the crown, the pre-drilled holes were off and so one of the screws that held the top on came in under the shelf instead of through it. The shelf is going in the closet of my home office, so it will work, but I had hoped for more than "making due." I bought another product from this retailer that also had holes that were mis-aligned. Both products were made in Thailand. I don't know if it was the same manufacturer, but there is a problem with quality control.

        I had previously purchased this style of bookcase at a "big box" office supply store and have loved it. Then, when I decided I wanted more, I couldn't find it. After lots of searching, I discovered it's now "exclusively" here.

        I'm hoping I run out of books before I run out of wall-space for these attractive bookshelves.
