I chose to mount my TV over my fireplace, which made it difficult and messy to balance all of my A/V equipment on my small mantle! This unit is sturdy, pretty good quality, and attractive. It was perfect to put next to my fireplace mantle and hides the mess of all the cords! I was concerned when I ordered it because the picture does not appear to show holes for the cords, but the compressed cardboard back (the rest is all solid wood) has perforated ovals that can be removed to run cords. Not the neatest option, but it doesn't much matter if you're placing items in front of the punch-outs. It's great for cable boxes, blu-ray players, routers, video game systems, etc. It looks stylish and was a great match to my dark brown coffee table. Very excited and glad to have bought this piece! :)

I am very pleased with this purchase from Hayneedle.[...]Pros-The assembly was incredibly easy. It took me about an hour to put it all together.-Sturdy, doesn't feel cheaply made-Looks great-Has good cutouts for accessibility to cables-The cabinet door can be either wooden or glass (interchangeable and comes with both pieces)Cons-The bottom door doesn't completely shut, it's not noticeable unless you're opening or closing the door though.-There isn't much ventilation in the bottom of the cabinet where I'm keeping my electronics. But there is plenty in the top of the cabinet. (I might move my electronics up there, but my wife wants that to be used for "decorative purposes")-The backing is flimsy (typical of pre-made cabinets)[...].For the price you can't beat this cabinet. Great piece of furniture. I would recommend it.
